Delhi Metro and property: what buyers and tenants should know
- Homes within a short walk of a metro station usually rent faster and hold value better, but nearby prices already include some of this premium. Compare the price per sq ft with similar homes a little farther away.
- Areas set to gain from Phase 4 include the outer north (Majlis Park to Maujpur and Burari), south Delhi along the Golden Line (Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj, Chhatarpur, Sangam Vihar, Tughlakabad) and the north-west along the approved Rithala to Kundli line.
- For lines that are only approved, buy on today’s facts, not announcements. Routes and dates can change until construction is well advanced.
- Check the circle rate, the property tax record and, for new projects, the RERA registration before you pay.
